Slowbiking @ Wielrenfestival Montferland

Nog vers in het geheugen hebben we de Slowbiking contest tijdens Wielerfestival Montferland in ’s-Heerenberg succesvol en met spierpijn afgesloten.  ’s-Heerenberg is zeker Slowbiking proof. Veel enthousiaste deelnemers streden voor de langzaamste tijd. Veel wedstrijdjes tussen verschillende generaties; vaders en moeders tegen zonen en dochters.  Op dag 1 was het Slowbiking record 4:47 minuten. Op dag 2 leek het niet meer langzamer te kunnen maar Sam uit ’s-Heerenberg met zijn doorzettingsvermogen heeft er een langzamere tijd van gemaakt met 6:11 minuten.  Veel kinderen en tieners hebben op de zondag meegedaan met het maken van soundscaping , muziek maken en zelfs presenteren om vriendjes bij te staan tijdens het Slowbiken.  De meest officiële prijsuitrijking van een Slowbiking contest ooit. Op het hoofdpodium met een officiële “slow-miss” om zoenen, bloemen en de hoofdprijs te overhandigen. Sam werd aan de kaak gesteld met vragen over zijn Slowbiking ervaring en vervolgens blij gemaakt door de “slow-miss”.  Wielerfestival Montferland tot volgend jaar!

Slowbiking @ Car-free Sunday Hasselt, Belgium

Slowbiking during the car-free sunday in Hasselt was awesome! slowbiking was 1 of the mobilityactivities in the totally citycentre of Hasselt, which was completly closed for cars. The Team of Slowbiking was fantastic: there was a very funny theatrical presenter: Bij Isabelle, a baritone saxophone: Stien Carlier and a couple of acoustic guitar players and a Cajun player!  The produced some great sounds to support the Slowbiking participants. Even the had announced a bad weather forecast, we didn’t receive rain! Thanks for that Due to the good weather we had a lot of visitors and participants, youngsters and elderly, everybody is welcome to participate in a little competition of Slow-Biking The best time goes to our Cajun player: Jeroen, he had the best slowest time of 1:42 minutes.

Slowbiking @ Omloop Breda

On the 28th of April 2013 Slowbiking was present at a fast cycling tour Omloop Breda ( www.tourducourage.nl )  for professionals and amateurs. It was a beautiful day with funny cyclists, bicycles, participants and we made some new friends. Even the weather conditions were perfect for a outdoor Slowbiking contest, we were inside a congress hall, lucky for us they put the heat on. With our funky sounds, are awesome PA-set and overly enthusiastic developer also know as presenter we had a lot of participants, even a bunch of famous professional cyclist as: Monique van der Ree, Bobbie Traksel, Johan van de Velde and chairman foundation Tour du Courage John van Ierland. We had picked up our own bicycles; a retro one, a retro super-mini one and a Bamboo Bike from: www.eerlijkekansen.nl and relaxed down the atmosphere in the congress hall area, just the (slow)way we should!
